The Efficacy of the Unmixed Gospel.

Because of the mercy we have received, we do not lose heart in our ministry.

The gospel may be veiled to some; the father of lies has blinded their minds.

Yet, God—who once said “Let there be light”—has now shone in our hearts, giving us the light of the knowledge of His glory in the face of Jesus Christ. This treasure of the gospel is carried in fragile vessels—us—so that God’s surpassing power, not our strength, is what shines.

Though afflicted, perplexed, persecuted, and struck down, we are never defeated. Our suffering, our daily hardships are not signs of defeat, but participation in Christ’s victory. We believe, and therefore we speak, knowing that just as God raised Jesus, He will raise us, His grace may extend, and God may be glorified.

Therefore, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. The visible world is temporary, but what is unseen—God’s promises, His kingdom, and our future glory—is eternal.
