Restoration: The Complete Plan of God for You

When relationships are broken, damaged, or severed due to unfaithfulness, those involved seek guidance and restoration. As believers, our counsel should lead them toward forgiveness, recognizing that true healing begins with a heart surrendered to God’s grace.

All Begins with Total Forgiveness

"Then he adds, ‘I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.’" (Hebrews 10:17)

"And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross." (Colossians 2:13-14)

Just as our relationship with our Heavenly Father is restored through complete forgiveness, reconciliation in any relationship begins with this step. He forgave us first, and through His forgiveness, we are called to forgive one another.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

Forgiveness is not just an obligation; it is the inevitable response of a heart transformed by grace. If forgiving others remains a struggle, we must reflect on the depth of the forgiveness we have received from God.

The only condition for receiving God’s complete forgiveness is faith in Jesus Christ. It is not based on penitence, remorse, or promises of perfect performance but solely on trusting in Christ’s finished work on the Cross.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

"The righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:22-24)

Justification means that God no longer counts our transgressions against us. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are not only pardoned but also credited with His perfect righteousness.

"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Through Christ, we are made perfect—not by our own actions but by faith in Him. Therefore, we must never accept condemnation in our hearts.

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1)

"And are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:24)
