The Story of North Central Florida musician, JR REICH (of Ssnakeeyez)

JR was born into a musical family in Ohio, later moving to Texas and then eventually relocating to Ocala, Florida in 1986. JR learned how to play and record music at an early age, starting out first on the bass guitar. Soon thereafter, JR picked up guitar from his father and drums from his mother.

He recorded and engineered his first album when he was just 15 years old, a gospel country album by JR & Darlene titled "The Song That I Remember", released in 1994. JR's father, Lou Reich recorded several country music singles under his name and with the String Shifters. JR grew up listening to country music greats such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson. Since the mid 90's, JR has played in the 3-piece band, Ssnakeeyez, which incudes his wife Donna on bass. Ssnakeeyez plays a mix of original and cover songs, releasing two CDs of original music. JR is also an established solo musician, playing full-time across North Central Florida. [Recorded: 02/19/24]
